Anchor Bolts

Anchor bolts are used to connect structural and non- structural elements to concrete. The link is created by connecting various components suck as anchor bolts (also called fasteners), steel plates, stiffeners. Anchor bolts pass various forms of load: stress and shear forces. The Stainless Steel column attached to a reinforced concrete base may reflect a link between structural elements. Whereas the relation between a facade system and a reinforced concrete wall represents a typical case of a non-structural feature attached to a structural one.

There are four main types of anchor bolts: L-shaped, double end rods with plate, headed, and swedge.

L-Shaped Anchor Bolts:
L-shaped anchor bolts are used in many applications including light poles, sign structures, heavy equipment, and tooling. At Birmingham Fastener, we distribute L-shaped bolts with a diameter of 3/8″-2.5 “and any length required by the following standards: A307, F1554-36, F1554-55, F1554-105, A193 B7, 304 Stainless, 316 stainless, and any grade required by the customer.

Double End Rods with Plate:
These types of anchors are double end rods with a washer with one end plate attached. Either the plate can be welded to the anchor bolt itself, or it can be welded to a nut engraved with concrete. Plate bolts are primarily used for building columns, road signs, and other uses. At Birmingham Fastener, we distribute straight with 3/8″-4 “diameter plate bolts and any length required by the following standards: A307, F1554-36, F1554-55, F1554-105, A193 B7, 304 Stainless, 316 stainless, and any grade required by the customer.

Headed Anchor Bolts:
Unlike most anchor bolts, the headed anchor bolts have their unthreaded ends with a forged head. Typically this is a hex, heavy hex, or square head. To secure a variety of constructions including structural columns, bridge railings, and light poles, the head is embedded in the concrete. At Birmingham Fastener, we distribute straight with 1/2″-2 “diameter headed anchor bolts and any length required under the following standards: A307, F1554-36, F1554-55, F1554-105, A193 B7, 304 Stainless, 316 Stainless and any grade that the Customer can need.

Swedge Bolts:
Swedge bolts are made from round bar steel that is threaded at one end and “swung” at the other end. “Swedged” implies one end has many indentions to let concrete flow into it. Swedge bolts are 100% domestic since they are used for connecting girders and piers. The majority of swedge bolts are galvanized hot dipped and come in diameters from 5/8 “to 4.’They can also be found in other materials including stainless steel. applications including light poles, sign structures, heavy equipment, and tooling. At Birmingham Fastener, we distribute L-shaped bolts with a diameter of 3/8”-2.5 “and any length required by the following standards: A307, F1554-36, F1554-55, F1554-105, A193 B7, 304 Stainless, 316 stainless, and any grade required by the customer.
